Ferry Terminal and Route Segment Geocoding and Length Estimation Tool
In support of the Bureau of Transportation Statistics’s geocoding and GIS programming for the 2006 National Census of Ferry Operators, MacroSys is geocoding ferry terminals and route segments identified in the census; creating programs for calculating ferry route segment distance for states and higher levels of geographic boundaries; posting this project to geodata.gov along with minimal metadata that describes the activity; and creating metadata compliant with the Federal Geographic Data Committee.

GeoFreight: The Intermodal Freight Display Tool
A MacroSys team assisted the Bureau of Transportation Statistics and the Federal Highway Administration to develop a freight display tool that uses a routing model to assign data on freight flows to various components of the transportation network.
