• Research Assistant

Research Assistant - Washington, DC

MacroSys has an immediate need for a Research Assistant to support a research and analysis program at the U.S. Department of Transportation's Research and Innovative Technology Administration.

Duties include:

• Tracking contacts with Congressional, intergovernmental, media, international, and other stakeholders and entering data and maintaining an Excel database with contact details.
• Maintaining a hard copy file system.
• Locating, obtaining, and purchasing copies of media coverage from clipping services.
• Compiling customer response, product performance, and media coverage reports.
• Preparing targeted electronic and hard copy mailings using database management software, including all aspects of mailing, from maintaining supplies to creating labels, stuffing envelopes, and coordinating delivery.
• Providing administrative and outreach project support, which may include making copies, coordinating services, delivering and picking up time-sensitive materials, fact checking, and supporting meetings.
• Preparing written reports and writing, editing, and formatting non-technical content for use in presentations, press releases, briefings, publications, and online products.
• Reviewing and manipulating data tables and charts.

Strong candidates will have the following qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in social science or communications field.
• Proficiency in MS Office software, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Experience using and entering data into Excel, Access, or other databases.
• Interest in transportation research.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Positive, professional attitude, instinct for diplomacy, and team spirit.
